My name is Sakina Ngandu, ADN. I was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). I graduated from Everest University, in 2014 with Associated Degree in Medical Assistant and a certificate in venerable adults and medication administration.
In my family, I am the oldest of seven children. Being the oldest comes with lots of responsibilities, such as caring for my siblings to allow my mother to rest after work, prepping meals, bathing, listening, and allowing my siblings to talk about their problems, as well as helping them attain problem-solving and life skills. We moved to the states back in 2000 due to the genocide in Congo (DRC). I have been married for 17 years and have four beautiful children. I would characterize myself as a responsible, compassionate, patient, and detail-oriented person. There are times when I am too hard on myself because I want to ensure that I deliver the right and efficient care to my patients. In my free time, I enjoy going on walks with my four kids, or we sit back and enjoy a good show, like Days of Our Lives. I also love cooking African dishes for my family.
I’ve had 20 years of experience working in the healthcare industry, and my husband and I decided to open our own home care facility where we can continue to take care of elderly patients in a place where they can feel safe and welcomed.
